3D Stories are Here
The new 3D Story tree makes it simple to build virtual field trips, digital twins and attractive 3D presentations to communicate the story of your unique project. Combine your 3D models and GIS datasets, subsurface panels, interpretations and more into a 3D Story. Capture Views and animation paths that can be revisited at any time. Build up a table of contents that you can use for presenting your project to stakeholders, for teaching, demos to clients and much, much more!
A new free 3D Viewer mode lets you share projects and run virtual field trips in a classroom setting without the interface clutter😊.
Easier than ever to get your 3D models into LIME
Modern reality capture devices generate high fidelity datasets, with processing workflows enabling higher resolution, accuracy and automation. We focussed heavily on streamlining the import of 3D models into LIME and performance for this release:
- A new blazing fast loader for the "classic" OBJ model format
- Support for the glTF/GLB format (fast becoming the standard for 3D models)
- Boosted performance for streaming cloud models
- 3D models and elevation data can be loaded from open URLs

Licensing Changes
- It's now possible to acquire floating license seats through our online payment system
For educational institutes, we have introduced:
- A new multi-year license, intended for PhD students. It is available for four years, enough to cover the lifetime of most PhD projects.
- A Classroom/Institute license for educational institutes: access to LIME for a whole organisational unit
